For the past three or four years, I have gone to various grocery stores, whether it’s Walmart, the food section at Target, HEB, Randall’s, or even Sprouts, and I have looked for frozen ravioli with meat filling. It seems that nobody carried this product. And even when I could find it online, I was told it was not in stock when I went to order it.
So about a week ago, I happened to be at the grocery store, looking for something else in the freezer section, and I found it! Frozen meat ravioli! I bought a bag, brought it home, and had some the next day. I had literally been craving it for years.
Andrea was away on a business trip. I called her and said, “You’ll never guess what I found at the grocery store.” She said, “What?” I said, “I’ve been looking for it for years.” She shouted out, “You found ravioli with meat!” I said, “Yes!” and we laughed.
I was so happy.
I had found joy in one of the little things of life. And even better, I had found someone who shared my joy over a little thing. This was not earth-shaking or life-changing, but I was excited and so happy—because it’s true, you can find joy in the little things of life.
Maybe big things are not going to happen for you today. Maybe you won’t get the big contract. Maybe you won’t get a promotion. Maybe you won’t win the lottery. But maybe, just maybe, that isn’t going to keep you from being happy…
May you find the joy in little things, and hopefully, you’ll have someone to share your joy.
